Scrap Schemes

So exciting, my first LO for scrap schemes has gone live with the rest of the wonderful LO's by the DT. Head on over to see the wide variation we have all achieved from the same scheme.

So here is my LO. I apologise for the light but my craft room is very bright at the mo as its a conservatory.

I have already started work on the next one, some of my favourite colours as well.

Tackling that checklist, lol

So i made a start on that massive checklist of projects i needed to finish and i accomplished quite a bit.

1. ATC wings themed swap (Fiskarettes) DONE
2. Fat page swap (UKS)
3. Stamp challenge (Scrap Attack) DONE
4. Greetings card swap (UKS) DONE
5. Eco circle journal (UKS)
6. Design class for Cullen crafts beginners Scrapbooking.
7. Finish Donna Downey layers journal
8. Make use of all the sooting we made at our all day crop a month ago. DONE

So first off, a few weeks ago we had an all day crop at Crafter's Haven at which we decided we would try and i mean try sooting. There is a nice article in craft stamper from a few months ago and also a couple of tuturials on split coast stamper.

So after burning my way through my papers, i kid you not, i lost loads of pieces, lol, i finally got some really nice sooted images.

But i didnt know what to do with them. But after being inspired by danielle (Link in the right) and her beautiful cards, and Sharons butterfly stamp again from the stamp challenge (created a monster sharon)i set about cutting my sooted paper into strips.

I made one pink card and aged all the butterflies, sentiments and lace with walnut ink to give it a vintage feel. I also made a little ribbon rose. Love that new technique and i will a link to the instructions soon.

So here is my card

So i loved the card so much that i made 10 more for my card swap. They are slightly different/ colours but just as nice.

So then i wanted to have a play with my ATC's. I have only made a few ATC's in my crafty life but i do love having ago.

So i took a A4 and A5 piece of card. Marked my atc's out on the back ready for cutting. I then covered the card with torn pieces of book text ripped from two old paper backs, one denton, one jackie collins (a bit naughty in places, lol. I then painted the text with acrylic paint in white, ocre and orange.

I then cut up each ATC and then stamped around the edge of each one with black staz on.

I found a loverly vintage girl image from artizine and a loverly bright butterfly from google images. I cut out the wings from each butterfly and glued them down before sticking the girl image on top. I finished off by adding some text coloured in walnut ink and running a gold dabber round the edge.

I had so much fun that i made more for the stamp challenge using Sandra's stamp and another for my little stamp book/journal i am making.

And thats it for now as i have to go pack as i am off to Bettyhill on Friday. Hope it stays dry as i cant cope with being cold, wet and dirty!!!

I am thrilled to be part of the team especially as i have plenty of free time on my hands now, lol

So what's it all about. You can head on over to Scrap Schemes for a look. The idea about Scrap Schemes is to take the scheme/picture posted to use it as your inspiration to create!

Green day

So after walking down to the village boot sale and its a tough walk, we came back and i was pooped. So i sat and created a LO in the peace and tranquility of my craftroom.

Butterfly crafts challenge blog, linky on the right has a challenge to scrap with your favourite colour. Now if i was scrapping for myself i would have gone for reds or burgundy's. But as i had a nice picture of the boys, i headed for my paper box and picked out the fattest folder on a whim. Imagine my surprise when the folder contained lots of green papers. I dont know why i seem to buy so much green.

Anyway i created my LO and here is the result. The light quality is not good as its very bright in my craftroom at the moment and i am using a barrowed camera.

And thats it for now as its day 1 of the big house clean as its been very neglected due to college work. Todays task is to reclaim the dining area, pack away college folders into storage and house at least 10 huge text books on the book shelf, lol

Bye for now

Crafting is back on the agenda

So the exams are finally over, essays are all done and college is finished, yay. So i have had the chance to do some crafting these last two days.

Firstly i have been making cute little acetate butterflies following a tutorial by scrapperlicious. You can find a link in my blog list on the right. They are so easy to make and once they are blinged up with stickles and liquid pearls they look really nice.

Then i made a quick LO. Not convinced with this yet but i think its a case of getting my mojo back as its been about 5 weeks since i did a paper LO, lol

This is my brother mooke, his new bride Gem and my parents.

And some sneak peaks of a few things i have finally finished but cant show properly yet.

Thats it for today as i am off to support the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest. Go Jade, lol.

The end is nigh.....

Not long now before my exams are here and then i am done with university for the year until my honours year starts in September.

So i will be back crafting soon.

In the mean time, here is a digi LO i created last night on my me time. Its made from freebies but i cant name as i lost everything from my portable hard drive again. Another story for another time. Just dont invest in one of those, they cause so much trouble and heart ache.

Off to surf as its daniel's birthday so having a night off, too many e numbers around, lol
