Crafty me time

I took some time out on Sunday from family and college work to go to my crop. I took 3 projects with me and half completed just two. But i did finish one when i got home.

I made a christmas wreath for Ribbon Oasis. I know there are lots of them out there in cyber space but i am just too lazy to cut hundreds of circles out or make tiny flowers. THis one is supposed to be made with 100% ribbon cut at 4" lengths but i am not parting with that amount of my precious ribbon, not even for Santa!!!!

So i gathered all my gold, blue and brown PP and CS from my scrap box and cut into pieces about 4 inches x 1/2 inch. You will need lots. I tried to make about 6 pieces of each pp or ribbon with the bulk of the circle being filled in with mainly blue pieces.

My ring is 10" in size.

To make the circles, you put them together as if making rings for old fashioned paper chains, overlap slightly and puch a straight pin from the inside out through the paper/ribbon. And thats it. I made most of my rings first and then attached. I also put most of the paper rings in first then went around and slotted in the ribbon rings later.

I dangled a christmas decoration in the middle, £1 from Tesco's for 12, bargin.

So here is mine

Hope you like, any questions, just ask

Happy Valentine's day

Well its that day again, the one where chocolates and flower prices go thru the roof. DH is out this morning so no card here but as we dont usually do cards then i wont be disapointed when i dont get one, lol

But i actually made Keith a card yesterday as i wanted to try a few things out. I saw a loverly little pocket wedding invitation when i was doing research for Mike's wedding invites. I bought a load of A3 white card for something else so i decided to make a template last night. It was actually very easy to make and i can get two cards out of one sheet.

I decided to decorate with some of my scrapbook apprentice past kits, the loverly pink papermania heart range from a few months ago.

I decorated with my January ribbons from http://www.ribbonoasis.co.uk/gallery.php?cid=31&page=1.

I added little "love notes" inside the pocket.

Also while the boys where off on thursday i decided i couldnt do college work anymore so decided to scrap. It was nice creating a LO just for me and one that was not needed for a challenge or DT work. I just picked a picture from the day, one of Alex whinging when he got a snow ball down the back and declaring that was it, no more snowball fights. So the LO refelcts the fact that Alex cant take as much as he gives!!!!

I used my new Bobunny press papers, a bit of basic grey and a large self adhesive circle that i got at scrap a ganza last year in holland.

Thats all for now folks

The reveal: Ribbon Oasis

Now that my projects haver finally gone live over at Ribbon oasis, I can can now reveal the finished items. You can see what the other members of the team have come up with here

I had so much fun playing with the pinkness of this kit with a hint of Valentine's thrown in as well. There is a lot of recycling going on in this months projects.

Get ready for the photo over load again. This first project was made using a maths geometry set in a tin. I spotted it in the £1 section at our local Tesco's shop. I wish i had got more now. I even used some of my packaging to make the mini album in side. The tin was perfect in depth to take a good sized BIA wire some i could make a bulky mini album as well.

Next is a little card i made. I am no longer a card maker since scrapbooking stole my life, lol but since being part of the whole Scrapbook Apprentice Experience i have begun to make more and more cards. I came across this bunch of flowers at a car boot sale and knew i would use them in a project once i gave them a good wash. THey were perfect with the green and pruples in this month's kit and the addition of some bling in the form of sparkly brads from papermania just set them off.

And lastly is my favourite. I really threw everything at this project, lol. Again more recycling. I found this lace circle thingy again at the car boot stash. I dont know what its use is but it was perfect for altering and the lace peaking thru just adds a nice romantic touch.

And thats it for know. I hope i have inspired you to use more ribbon on your projects, lol

Cheers

I am back.......

After weeks and weeks of BT trying to find a reason for us having no internet at all in the house, we received a message on the phone to day that they have fixed the problem. So after watching all the lights blinking on the home hub for what felt like two hours, the net finally came back on.

So i sat trawling thru my 120 emails and checked into my college site only to find loads of emails from my pal asking where i was today. Doh, no email or net ment i hadnt checked into the college site to see that my time table had changed. There was me happily creating away for Ribbon Oasis and the new stuff i received last week when i should have been in Taxonnomy and Aquaculture. I feel so stupid.

Anyway, i have some sneak peaks to show you for the afor mentioned Ribbon Oasis. I just loved all the pinkness and love ribbons this month.

And i finally finished my secong scrap like you mean it LO. Its a wedding medely that i started months ago. The grid is actually the back of a SEI die cut tag sheet that just called for some altering. I sort of serendipity papered it with scraps then added my pics and mounted it on canvas board.

Well thats it for today, i am off to surf and internet shop, lol

Ribbon Oasis

Here is a selection of stuff i did last month for the Christmas ribbon pack from Ribbon oasis. I struggled with this as i dont celebrate christmas in the traditional red and greens as we have a blue, brown and gold theme here and have for a good few years now. But i made some decorations and a few LO's. I didnt do any cards as i am not a card maker and Bea as other DT members who are more than capable of producing fab cards, i am not, lol. Check out the Christmas Gallery here to see some fab work by the rest of the DT. I shall be using some of those ideas soon.

This one was non christmas papers from a BG collection pack but i think it still looks really festive. I love how Alex looks so young and this picture is only two years old. He is growing up fast now. Soon will be 8, arhhhh, where have my babies gone. I think DH would pack up and leave if i suggested some more, lol

I just loved the star and plan to make more in my own blue/ brown colours.

Also check out my mums new blog to see what she has come up with for her own christmas tree books. Really nice and traditional in comparison to my modern theme.

This one was not in the christmas theme as i just wanted to use the whites in the collection to make a plain, white spaced LO of Alex and his missing teeth.

Back to the study, about to make myself a revision timetable, exciting ha

Ribbon oasis DT stuff

I have some stuff for ribbon oasis to show that i completed way back in september now but have only just got around to uploading.

I just loved the really thick rose ribbon that i turned into wee baggies. I have some more different wire here and i will make some more as little christmas bags.
