Crafty me time

I took some time out on Sunday from family and college work to go to my crop. I took 3 projects with me and half completed just two. But i did finish one when i got home.

I made a christmas wreath for Ribbon Oasis. I know there are lots of them out there in cyber space but i am just too lazy to cut hundreds of circles out or make tiny flowers. THis one is supposed to be made with 100% ribbon cut at 4" lengths but i am not parting with that amount of my precious ribbon, not even for Santa!!!!

So i gathered all my gold, blue and brown PP and CS from my scrap box and cut into pieces about 4 inches x 1/2 inch. You will need lots. I tried to make about 6 pieces of each pp or ribbon with the bulk of the circle being filled in with mainly blue pieces.

My ring is 10" in size.

To make the circles, you put them together as if making rings for old fashioned paper chains, overlap slightly and puch a straight pin from the inside out through the paper/ribbon. And thats it. I made most of my rings first and then attached. I also put most of the paper rings in first then went around and slotted in the ribbon rings later.

I dangled a christmas decoration in the middle, £1 from Tesco's for 12, bargin.

So here is mine

Hope you like, any questions, just ask

Shimelle's Blogging for scrapbookers

I know i said i was abandoning the blog for my essay but i forgot i signed up for the class so i had better make use of it. I have decided its going to be my coffee break time out project each day.

So the prompt was little or no time which just fits perfectly with how my life is steam rolling along at the moment. I have to tell you i overslept this morning. the first time ever. I don't usually need an alarm clock as i wake at 7am on the dot each day and switch the alarm off. But not today, i woke at 8.25am, OMG, shock horror. I was rushing the kids around and the school bus just sailed past the house. We frantically drove to school and got their with 5 minutes to spare. Just shows how frazzled i am and how i must of needed that sleep, lol.

Anyway here is a photo of one part of my desk, piled up with books for a module i am taking. I am designing a wildlife garden with children and biodiversity in mind!!!! Daunting i know.

With the boys being off yesterday i took advantage of a study free day and made 4 dozen pumpkin cupcakes (Thanks to shimelle for the recipe) they are beautiful. I also made a few little Halloween candy pouches with my newly arrived Thriller collection from RP.

You can see the full collection of Thriller on the Rusty Pickle site. And to celebrate the delivery of this wonderful stash, i have one set of thriller papers to GIVE away as a RAK. Just leave me a comment by Friday 9am and i will randomly pick a name and get in the post that day. And i will also chuck in the unclaimed RAK from the Rusty pickle blog hop as the person who won didn't bother claiming it despite me leaving plenty of messages. So here is that RAK as well.

It features the new panama jack collection and a class kit. I don't think either of these collections are available in the UK yet so grab em while you can.

Happy blogging

Bubbly scrumptious sneaks

Well i am about to abandon the blog for a bit as i am frantically trying to finish, or should i say start a 2500 word essay on renewable energy for college. I like the subject but i have hurdles being thrown at me all over the place like children on two Weeks half term and days like today when there is no school due to the bad weather and floods here in the NE of Scotland. Arhhhhhh

Anyway i have been supper organised and made my next 3 weeks worth of scrumptious challenges and Wednesday projects in advance, with all my instructions typed as well, arnt i good or is that just hysterical energy i am using. Now i can concentrate on the essay and DH can pack for my trip to UTAH next week, lol. I will have certainly earned this holiday.

Anyway here are a few sneaks. The first two are for this coming Wednesday and the last one for the week after.

As always, thanks for dropping by

Weekly challenge time

Its time for the weekly challenge over on bubblyfunks challenge blog. This weeks challenge is to use the Proverb ‘a thing of beauty is a joy forever’ somewhere on your project.

Here is mine. I struggled with this as i wanted to use purple to match little sarah's dress but i only had a bout 5 pieces of purple, lol

Also forgive the pic but my camera is broke and i usually borrow my mums but she has had the check to take it away on holoday with her!!
