As its now the beginning of February (where did Jan go!)its time for a new Vanilla Sugar challenge. THis month it all about the heart. Your challenge is to make a heart wall hanging.
Head on over to the blog for all the details and cheak out the wonderful DT projects, we excelled ourselves, lol
Here is my Heart.
I loved getting into practice with the metal work ready to go to the paper artsy retreat. As my friend Fiona says, i just couldnt go to the retreat as a blind newbie like the rest of them could i, lol, she knows me so well.
I tried all sorts of techniques on the heart.
I preped the heart base with decorative tissue paper.
Then i cut a piece of metal to fit on one side of the heart. I dont have the metal work tools yet( nudge nudge wink wink, lol) so i impravised. I stamped onto the back of the metal with a harlequin stamp. I then took a embossing tool and went around the edge of one row of haliquins from the back and another set up from the front, alternating each row.
I then took a paper stump and embossed from the front and debossed from the back. I just kept going until i was happy.
I hot glued it onto the heart and used textured paste to join the gaps, dabbing crackle paint in two different here and there along the join.
I added PP panels to break the shape up before adding another metal heart.
The tail is a mix of chipboard hearts, metal wire and beads.
I am really pleased how it turned out.
