Fat page swap

So over the last 6 weeks me and my mum have been getting all arty and trying something new. We decided to sign up for a fat page swap, lol, as we had never done them before.

So here are mine

And here are mums (her blog is under hibernation, lol). You may notice there is one missing but that is the one or me as i wasnt allowed to take a picture and spoil the surprise.

And there you go. Certainly alot of fun to make.

Mojo is making an appearance

So i sat for an hour yesterday whilst waiting for the boys to arrive of the school bus and made more chipboard hearts. I swear to god, i hate these hearts. I cu 50 plus large hearts and 120 small hearts. So the job tonight is to start to triple emboss them all and add some bling.

So after doing a little crafting i wanted to do some more. So i started painting my newspaper pages for my in the mix album. There is a tutorial on Donna Downeys site on how to make these pages but basically its 6 newspaper pages stuck together for each page. I just want mine plain white and crumpled at the moment.

The finished pages

More paint

Build up the paint

Pasted pages.

So once i got the painting bug and dirty hands (as i am just too lazy to use a brush, lol)i started on the painted page element of my album. I used textured Bazzil and just covered it in white whilst blending sploges of pink or green whilst the white paint was still wet. I actually laid the painted pages whilst still wet on newspaper print and when i pulled it back some print come away on the page. Produced a nice effect.

Almost there with this in the mix book now

In the mix swap

I am hosting a swap over on UKS. Now regular readers will know i just love making mini books but i fancied a challenge.

So i decided to host a swap for mixed media which is so popular at the moment. Here are the details

For this swap you must make a mini book (No bigger than 8 x 8") with at least 10 pages (making 20 sides!). Please make it big enough to fit standard size photos.

This swap requires that there is at least one of the following included as pages:

• Acetate page
• A page made from material
• A page incorporating lace paper ie Maya road or KI memories style
. Shaped page
• Chipboard Page
• Painted page
• Newspaper page (I know this is not acid free but its at the discretion of receiver how they use these pages)

This is the minimum that all books must have but you can interpret this however you like.

Decorate each page minimally with papers, embellishments, rub ons, ribbons, bling, buttons etc, but please ensure you leave spaces for your swapee to add in their own photos and journaling.

There is no theme for this swap so papers, mixed media supplies and stash can be any colour you like.

Bind your book any way you like with book rings, BIA or ribbons etc

Each swapee should spend approx £5.00 on card, mix media, stash to make your book. Why not take advantage of some of the New Year sales from UKS sponsors. Also check out CAroline's closing down sale for lots of mixed media bargins.

If you fancy joining up, head on over to the thread and then PM me with the required details and i will add you to the list.

I cant wait to get started now, i fact i am this afternoon
