Crafting in my PIT

I had a rare child free morning so decided to craft. I got a box of DT supplies from Bubbly Funk in the week and was itching to get it open and have a play. But my craft room is such a PIT at the moment and my family sized dining table has a space the size of a placemat left to scrap on. So i had to have a tiny clean up before i started, booooooo.

But here is a sneak of the LO that i created. My brother sent me a beautiful Photo of Jessica the other day so i had to scrap it.

And i will leave you with some pics of Rebecca. She is 10 months now, how fast is the year jumping by!!! She learnt to crawl at the weekend whilst i was crafting at our crop, doh. So now i have to clean every morning so she doesnt get rotton. These pics were taken at my mums, who will have to do the same, as she was sat in the ash pile from their aga!

She is a minger, lol

Something New

So i am not very good at sewing but i would love to be. So i do try, its not always successful, but i try, lol.

I saw a pattern on the net for a memory bear so i dug out one of Rebecca's blankets and cut one out. The original was 12" so i decided for my trial version to scale it down to 6". Not sure if this was such a good idea as i had to hand stitch it as bits were too small for the machine.

Anyway, here it is. I am quite chuffed with it, lol.

The DH and boys keep wetting themselves with laughter, why, its a cutie. Have 2 full sized ones cut out ready.

And i will leave you with my spagetti eating monster. Not good for a compulsive cleaner, oh the mess.

Anyway off to soak my aching feet as just stood for 5 hours cooking burgers and bacon for a charity BBQ. Raised just short of £200 so cant complain.

Seperated at birth

Its a busy old time at the moment and i am typing one handed whilst holding the finger chewing monkey in the other but i will be back later with a crafty update.

So the reason for this post. I have 2 LO's sitting on my mantle piece and was struck by the resemblance between Dan and Rebecca. People sat they see bits of both boys, esprecially with Alex in the just boyz LO a few posts below. But look at this.

This is Dan at 6 months

This is Rebecca a few weeks ago at about 14wks

Uncanny eh, lol. So wish i had one of Alex to compare properly with.

EDITED, I FOUND A PICTURE OF ALEX.

Peas in a pod, all of them.

Can you tell i love scrapping my kids, lol

Stop the press......i am scrapping

I have been playing with the silhouette machine. Its been dusted off and lifted out of the box after 3 years. New software has been down loaded, and the blog has been browsed within an inch of its life.

So i have all these little bits that have been cut so some of them have been applied to a LO. Can you believe it, my second LO this year, lol. Hopefully it will be finished tomorrow as i am having a play weekend

I have to show you these pics of Rebecca, now 11wks. Excuse DH hair, he so needs a hair cut, lol

I think i will use the middle one tomorrow, so cute.

Happy New Year

I cant believe its January 1st 2011. Where did that year go. This time last year i was sat here worrying about completing my dissertation and graduating from university and looking forward to the summer. Who'd have thought i'd be sat here writting this one handed with a 7 week old baby sat on my knee, lol.

So this year i am making no resolutions as life has a habit of throwing curve balls at you when you least expect them. If i find the time to go to the gym, so be it. If i loose some weigh, so be it. If we save up for a holiday, so be it. But i guarentee, we will make lots of new memories this year.

Big thanks go to all my friends and family for supporting me over the last year, for spurring me on when i was at my lowest with uni work and all the pregnancy issues. I couldnt have done it without you.

And big thanks to Keith, my DH for being my rock, my shoulder to cry on, my wall to shout at.

And thanks to my boys for being my little helpers in the last few months

And the biggest surprise of 2010

Just fallen asleep whilst i have been typing

So a happy 2011 to you all and happy crafting.

Here is a quick digi LO i never in a million years thought id be making this time last year, lol

The bump has arrived

Well what can i say, what a week. The yellow bump turned out to be a pink bump.

Rebecca Ann Carrington was born on tuesday at 10.15am. She weighed a healthy 8lb 1oz and measures a tiny 17" in length. She has a massive mop of blonde hair and her daddies bright blue eyes and not my grey eyes.

She is a cutie, if i say so myself.

We are home and settling into a routine now. But i am shattered, i confess, lol.

Be back soon

The Graduate

On Friday i graduated from University of Highlands and Islands (UHI), Moray. It was a loverly day and the ceromony was great. But i didnt expect to be 8 months pregnant when i started my final year and looked to the future of graduation. THe event organisor was fab and had folk looking out for me all over the place, as it was very hot and there were lots of stairs all over the place.

So hear is my graduation pic. THis is the edited version as my bump is well on display and its not so much a bump anymore but a bloody mountain, lol. And look at that pregnancy round, glowing face, Mmmmmm!!!!

Anyway, i am so proud. 4 years of blood, sweat and tears with plenty of laughts and new experiences along the way.

Its official.........I have graduated

So i got a very important call today from my studies adviser at university. I was dreading it when she said she had my results as since i found out in Feb about the surprise pregnancy, its been one complication after another and a roller coaster ride. So i wasnt expecting great things.

But she had good news. I got a upper class second honours (2:1). That will do me nicely as i was seriously expecting to have failed and need to do resits.

All that hard work, tears and tantrums has finally paid off.

Our grand day out

As a belated treat for Alex's birthday, as his last one got cancelled due to excessive snow!, we hit Aberdeen yesterday. We went to the new shopping mall at Union Square and to the cinema's.

I had no joy in my heart for the film he picked, Avatar. It just didnt appeal to me at all and i just wanted to know what the whole point of the 3D thing was. I even tried to persuade him to go see Alvin and the chipmonks. But he wasnt having that.

So we paid a furtune, £60 in all (if you include the petrol to get there)for the experience.

But boy did i have a massive about turn. The film was bright, vivid, and beautiful. The whole experience in 3D was just so good. We found ourselves ducking away from arrows and spears and wanting to reach out and touch the screen.

I would recommend it to anybody and those 3D glasses as so cool, Alex looks like a young Michael Caine, lol

Its beginning to look a lot like christmas.................

So i was feeling guilty about all my studying and Alex was dying for the tree to go up, so i relented. We picked up all the stuff from storage next door at mums and set about doing the make over. And it looks great, all shiny blue, gold, brown.

SO after that was done i decide to have ago at making egg nog as never had it before. I got a recipe from the baileys site so not sure if it was original egg nog but it was mighty nice.

And as we were in the festive mood, me and keith decided to strain the sloe gin and blackberry vodka we made months ago, phew, rocket fuel is an under statement, but very nice. I have something to look forward to when the exams are over.

Cant wait

Be ack tomorrow with a bubbliscrumptious challenge project.

Camping here we come

We are hoping to get away for a few days soon in the tent. We have had this tent for about 8 years and never used it.

The boys went out camping in the garden the other night and loved it.

Fingers crossed it stays dry and sunny. Hopefully that tornado wont work its way down from the isle of Lewis, lol.

And that;s it as we are out foraging for fruit. RAspberries and gooseberries are in full fruit so its picking time ready for jam making. The one thing i can "cook" well. I have been complimented on my raspberry jam, lol

Bye

Happy Mothers Day

So today is Mothers Day here in the UK. After waiting to hear the boys getting up and making my breakfast in bed.....can you also hear them.....NO me neither, lol. So i got up at nine to which DH jump started the kids and along they toddle with my cards. Alex made me a card in school which was loverly. He is taking after his nan and blinged it to within an inch of its life. Daniel made me a card at Boys Brigade and coloured it in so neat and tidy.

And Keith sent away to moonpig for this little beauty, Lol. Oh i laughted so much but i can see it being a LO pretty soon!!!!

So i decided to make some cards yesterday. I had a pile a scrap on my desk form the previous days LO so off i went. I bought two of the Leanne Ellis Sugar Nellies last month so i decided to finally give them their debut. I stamped onto water colour paper with a black archieval ink and then coloured and blended with my Whispers Stiokes. God i love those pens and i will certainly be investing in some more colours in the future.

So here are my two mothers day cards, one for my mum and one for keiths mum

so off to get ready as today is my crop, yay

Take Care
