LO Gallery

I have just had a tidy up of my LO gallery and added loads of recent LO's.

stressed

I am so stressed by my college work load. I couldnt even get to play over at mums this weekend. we had planned on having a cyber crop party with UKS but it got shelved, arh.

I have downloaded just one LO class by louby Lou as it looks gorgeus and quite a quick one to do.

I did 3 Lo's yesterday with some DT stuff i got sent from Caroline. Its for the june monthly kit which uses the Cosmo Cricket range so i cant spoil the surprise but they are just gorgeus, funky and perfect for my boy inspired Lo's or for a bit of funky girl pages as well.

Sneek peek at some papers in the kit

I also had some R and R last night whilst watching CSI. I had a 12 x 12 lid on my knee with paper in one hand and glue in another and started a collage. I felt great as i was relaxing and crafting at the same time. I bought a 12 x 12 sheet of SEI dieciut tags and when i had used them the left over sheet seemed sucha waste to put in the bin so i am recycling it, lol

Its perfect for those little photos as well. Can wait to finish it now and tart it up in a similar way to my art deco trypich screen i did a few weeks ago.

Back to the books and Gram's staining now, followed by bacterial structure and the marine biology and intertidal zonation, yawn

see you soon

BIA inspiration

Whilst i remember and whilst i am still awake (I cant be doing with these long days at college and straight home to study), I have some more BIA projects.

I made this beautiful mini album using one of Caroline's own brand half scalloped mini albums. I added lots of pages from cardstock and corrugated cardboard and decorated with the Teresa Collins paper and the new 5th avenue papers.

I am off to bed now

BIA projects are returning home

The BIA projects are starting to return back to their swappees already. I cant believe the speed of Royal Mail this time as they only went in the post after 4 o'clock yesterday.

I feel like an expectant mother waiting for them to arrive.

Anyway i think this will be one of my last blogs for a month as i have major uni commitments now and i have to stop playing with my crafty BITS and knuckle down.

Be back soon, infequently but i will be back

BIA project with an accent swap

I have been hosting my second BIA swap over on UKS. It is great fun and touch wood, all seems to have gone to plan.

The theme was black and white with an accent and the accent colours were pink, green and gold.

The gold ones are all packed up ready for posting in an hour or so when keith comes home from work.

So here goes, the first batch of pictures.

If you click on a picture it will tell you the artist who made the the wonderful project.

Edited to add the other groups now as i am dumb and dont know how to hide them in the slider account, so you might as well see them all now, lol

Here is the Green group

And here is the pink group

I hope you like them and that i put them all in the right order and matching their owners, lol

More BIA projects

I keep forgetting to post these pictures.

I have made a few word books now. They are simple to make and look so nice. I made this Baby book for a class at Sandra's shop along side the love book i made a while ago.

As my book just had 4 letters it was easy to do. Start with 2 pieces of A4 chipboard. I cut each piece in half, length wise. I then made letters on my PC. Depending on how many letters you have base the size on the width. I went for a font around 350 pts.

I cut out the print out and stuck it to the right hand side of each chipboard piece as a template before cutting it out.

I sanded down all the edges before inking them.

I then positioned the words in the right order and cut each piece to the right size from the left hand side. The pieces should line up to the bottom piece.

I then decorated both side of each piece in Patterned paper, in this case basic grey two scoops from Carolinez Craftz kitz.

I added photos, ribbons, bubbons and journalling.

There is a lot of cutting in this project but it is worth it.

I hope you like it and maybe have a go yourself.

Altered Art-Trypich Screen

I have always loved Rennie Mackintosh and art deco so i decided to celebrate this fact by making a trypich screen in honour.

I bought a screen from Carolines but it was too thick to go thru my beloved BIA. So i made another one using blank chipboard. I covered all the pieces with script style papers and heritage colours. I used 7 gypsies and K and Co.

I then gathered lots of deco images from the internet, just google art deco or charles rennie mackintosh and thousands flood in. I printed the ones i wanted out in photo quality.

I then began covering the screens and doors in a collarge style until i had the effect i wanted. It was a bit like being back at school with the pva glue and a paintbrush.

Once i was happy i set about using my water colour pencils and acrylic paint to highlight and colour in different parts.

I also used stickles, liquid perals and concentrated PVA glue to make 3D effect Mackintosh roses.

I then destressed the whole thing with walnut ink and abarondac metaliic gold dabbers.

I love how it turned out and it will be a welcome addition to my craftroom where i can sit and look at it and daydream the day away...........

I hope you like it

Spring clean

Well i was browsing tea peas when i stumbled across this really perfect if not somewhat anal craftroom. Well it got me all depressed as college work has left me grabing craft time here and there when ever i can. This resulted in alot of stuff just being dumped in my craft room.

So i had a great big tidy out. The boys where being pains so i got them to help me. We cleared everything out into the hall way and i then made a start sorting and putting it all back in.

Here are some before pictures, not the best of shots as borrowed this camera from my brother and its haywire, check out that dodgy date and i reset it everyday, arh

And some after pictures

My big comfy old chair that alex has spent most of the day sitting in reading SI magazines.

Mmmmm do you think i have a button fettish, lol

Here are some pictures of my red glass vases that i recently inherited from my Grandads house. MY nan and grandad had some loverly glass vases so i guess this is were i inherited my love of red glass from.

I have to show you these little cuties.

Dawn from Carolines forum showed us a picture of these cute little birdies she has been making. check out Dawn's blog as she has some great LO's and altered projects. Anyway these birds are called Nani birds and use can find them here. The site has templates that you print onto A4 card stock. All you have to do is print them out, trim them and glue then together. I used super glue as it was quicker.

Me and Alex spent a few hours making some and now he wants to make a bird box to go with them, i have created a monster.

That's it now after this massive post.

Tfl as always

I justified it to DH as research for my swaps on UKS and my teaching bits at Sandra's

And here is my canvas with the additional Lavvies in position now. I am still loving this canvas, lol
