Sneak peak

Just finished a little LO with my goodies that arrived from fiskars. I got a bumper box full of stamps, a stamp cradle (very cool thing to have), trimmer, ribbon weaver punch, set of 3 eyelet setter and mat plus set of eyelets, tag punch, shape boss template and a shape boss cutter and mat.

So i made my LO and had fun trying to use as many products as possible, lol. I think i got 6!!!

Here is a sneak peak or two and i will be back when the LO goes live.

Why not head on over anyway as the new DT have already started posting projects, the knitted bracelet is to die for, oh i wish i could knit, lol

Scrap schemes is live

The next scrap scheme is now live. Head on over to see what all the DT have produced.

When i first saw the scheme i immediatly sat and cut out lots of little felt circles in greens, browns, white and creams with an idea in mind to make a family tree LO. But after loosing all last years photo's off my hard drive and no camera to take some nice ones i had to quickly change my plan.

I had a really nice pic of the boys fooling around from when i was taking pics for the RP projects so i went with that.

Armed with my little circles i went thru my stash to find a very bright Blonde Moments paper that i fought was just perfect.

Off to clean my craft room again, its a pigsty!!!

A little altered project on the go.

I found this item whilst rummaging thru the carboot sale cupboard again at clochan. I believe its a spoon rack but i could be wrong. It have yucky red velvit backing but when i saw it i immediatly knew what it was gonna be.

So whilst the boys where off school on Monday for a local holiday, i got Alex to do the preping for me to keep him quiet.

He sanded all the frame then painted it with black and green dabber paints. He did a great job on it.

Later i painted it with Blonde Moments crackle glaze then over painted with white acrylic paint. I sanded the edges to reveal the green and black in places.

Today i backed the red velvet bit with my most special prized much stroked 7 gypsies paper and prima paper. I have had both pieces for over a year just for that special moment. I just need to age a little with walnut ink and then its ready to go.

Can you guess what it will be. How about a small RAK for the closest guess, lol.

Edited to add: Here are the finished herb and spice rack pictures.

I am floating on cloud nine

I have some amazing news. I am a finalist in the Rusty Pickle Amazing Race competition to win a place on the design team.

When i saw the call i was initially thinking its not for me, as there was no way i was Rusty Pickle material. But then i realised i had lots of their product in my stash collection, so why not go for it. You gotta be in it to win it, lol.

So the initial application had to include a double LO, minibook and a altered project. So the LO was not a problem as i had the funky candyland papers which just cried out for a funky boy LO.

Next was the mini book. I had all the popstar range in B & W that i wanted to use alongside another colourful range to add colour. The album was a real labour of love as it took me about a month with just doing little bits each night in between getting ready for my brother's wedding, college essays and revision but i was very happy with the finished item.

But the altered item was tricky. I had so many ideas sketched on paper but nothing felt right. I made a shadow box LO with one collection of papers but still no joy. So we went away to my bro's wedding and whilst there we travelled the fab charity shops in Frodsham (slighter richer donations there, lol) and i found the perfect item for changing, a mangy pine clock.

So after sanding and distressing with blonde Moments crackle glaze, i came up with this below.

I just loved how it turned out and it now sits in my bedroom as these are my colours.

So i am now off to finf past amazing race details to get an idea of what it is all about.

I am back

I have just returned from a 4 day trip to the highlands of Scotland. It shames me to say that we have lived in the NE of scotland for nearly 6 years and hardly travelled further north than Inverness.

But we had to travel to Betty Hill, Sutherland, just past Thurso for our ecolological field methods module.

What can i say, such a beautiful place. And i never realised we were so near Orkney. I am seriously considering getting out the tent and touring the area.

Here are a few pictures of the local area and beach.

and some loverly flora from the habitat survey

And thats all folks as i am seriously shattered from my early mornings and late nights.
