So i made a start on that massive checklist of projects i needed to finish and i accomplished quite a bit.
1. ATC wings themed swap (Fiskarettes) DONE
2. Fat page swap (UKS)
3. Stamp challenge (Scrap Attack) DONE
4. Greetings card swap (UKS) DONE
5. Eco circle journal (UKS)
6. Design class for Cullen crafts beginners Scrapbooking.
7. Finish Donna Downey layers journal
8. Make use of all the sooting we made at our all day crop a month ago. DONE
So first off, a few weeks ago we had an all day crop at Crafter's Haven at which we decided we would try and i mean try sooting. There is a nice article in craft stamper from a few months ago and also a couple of tuturials on split coast stamper.
So after burning my way through my papers, i kid you not, i lost loads of pieces, lol, i finally got some really nice sooted images.
But i didnt know what to do with them. But after being inspired by danielle (Link in the right) and her beautiful cards, and Sharons butterfly stamp again from the stamp challenge (created a monster sharon)i set about cutting my sooted paper into strips.
I made one pink card and aged all the butterflies, sentiments and lace with walnut ink to give it a vintage feel. I also made a little ribbon rose. Love that new technique and i will a link to the instructions soon.
So here is my card
So i loved the card so much that i made 10 more for my card swap. They are slightly different/ colours but just as nice.
So then i wanted to have a play with my ATC's. I have only made a few ATC's in my crafty life but i do love having ago.
So i took a A4 and A5 piece of card. Marked my atc's out on the back ready for cutting. I then covered the card with torn pieces of book text ripped from two old paper backs, one denton, one jackie collins (a bit naughty in places, lol. I then painted the text with acrylic paint in white, ocre and orange.
I then cut up each ATC and then stamped around the edge of each one with black staz on.
I found a loverly vintage girl image from artizine and a loverly bright butterfly from google images. I cut out the wings from each butterfly and glued them down before sticking the girl image on top. I finished off by adding some text coloured in walnut ink and running a gold dabber round the edge.
I had so much fun that i made more for the stamp challenge using Sandra's stamp and another for my little stamp book/journal i am making.
And thats it for now as i have to go pack as i am off to Bettyhill on Friday. Hope it stays dry as i cant cope with being cold, wet and dirty!!!
